Nestled within the beautiful Rocky Mountains, the graduate Design & Manufacturing program at the University of Utah is focused on educating students through advanced, hands-on design courses. We offer courses related to all areas of design and courses that are closely related to the research areas of individual faculty members.
Design & Manufacturing Track (Flyer)
The Design & Manufacturing track consists of a core, in which we teach advanced design and manufacturing skills. The sequence of courses is similar to a product design cycle, with courses covering each part of the cycle. The core is supplemented with elective courses that enable tailoring your graduate education to your specific interests and needs.
- For PhD post BS: 15 core credits + 9 track elective credits + 15 other elective credits = 39 credits + dissertation credits
- For PhD post MS: 15 core credits + 6 track elective credits = 21 credits + dissertation credits
- For MS thesis: 15 core credits + 6 track elective credits + 9 thesis credits = 30 credits
- For MS non-thesis: 18 core credits + 9 track elective credits + 3 other elective credits = 30 credits
