Design, Ergonomics, Manufacturing and Systems

Welcome to the Design, Ergonomics, Manufacturing and Systems (DEMS) research area, which is part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah.This site gives an overview of the activities of the DEMS faculty.

We are solving challenging research problems with applications in micro-and nanoscale systems, biomedical devices, ergonomics and rehabilitation devices, and precision design and manufacturing.

Design oriented courses are an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum, and a brand new graduate level Design & Manufacturing track will be offered starting in Fall 2015.
